TITLE: Control Room Technician 2

POSITION TYPE: Part-Time, Non-Exempt, Mid-Level

COMPANY: Sharks Sports and Entertainment, LLC

LOCATION: SAP Center and Tech CU Arena - San Jose, CA

REPORTS TO: Technical Services Senior Production Manager

PAY RANGE: $35.00 per hour

Position Overview
Technician 2s are skilled operators who independently manage key systems in the control room. They serve as leads in their respective technical areas and provide guidance and mentorship to Technician 1s during training. Primary contributions support the in arena presentations for San Jose Sharks, San Jose Barracuda, San Jose PWHL, as well as concerts and other rental events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Operate one or more core systems:

Cameras / Shading / PTZ (Grass Valley, Hitachi, Panasonic, Sony)

Replay (EVS, Mira)

Playback (Ross Kiva, Playdeck)

LED signage (Daktronics)

Lighting (GrandMA, ETC)

Audio (FOH mixing Yamaha, Allen & Heath or A2 support)

CG (Ross Xpression)

TD (Ross Carbonite, Grass Valley Karrera)

Troubleshoot issues during shows.

Mentor new team members.

Coordinate with Control Room Lead and Production Manager during events.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old

1-3 years experience in live event production

Proven independence operating gear in high-pressure environments

Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays

Clear communication and teamwork skills

Training Model

One 4-hour onboarding session

3 live event shadow shifts

Assigned mentor and skill check-ins

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, and crouch for extended periods of time, with or without accommodation.

Ability to bend at the waist, reach overhead, and lift up to 45 lbs, with or without accommodation.

Physically able to navigate stairs and catwalks at SSE facilities during normal work hours and events, with or without accommodation.

Ability to go up and down stairs multiple times during a shift, with or without accommodation.

Ability to work in low-light and high-noise environments during live events.
