Position Summary
This position serves as a subject‑matter expert on accessibility and accommodations coordination, leading the development and advisement of University policies, procedures, and training for compliance with federal and state disability laws, including Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (as amended).

Duties & Responsibilities

Five years experience with program development, training, or consultative services related to accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and accommodations for adults with disabilities, preferably in higher education.

Experience or relationships with disability advocacy organizations.

Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations related to Sections 504 and 508, the ADA, Illinois Information Technology Act, Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, and Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates.

Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to both experts and non‑experts and to develop and conduct training for diverse audiences.

Strong organizational, time‑management, analytical, creative problem‑solving, and team‑leadership skills.

Ability to work effectively with diverse populations in a higher education setting.

Preferred grant‑writing experience for ADA compliance initiatives, facilities, and equipment.

Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Minimum Qualifications

Master's Degree required.

Five years of related experience as described above.

Required knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations as outlined.

Highly proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

J.D. or Ph.D. preferred.
