Job Responsibilities
Rail Offloading
Oversee the offloading of liquid Argon and CO2 rail cars into stationary storage vessels, including the connection of cryogenic hoses and monitoring of pressure and volume during the transfer process.
Product Loading
Execute the loading of liquid product from storage tanks into trailers, encompassing tasks such as weighing‑in/out transports, connecting loading hoses, and operating loading pumps.
Scale Operations
Perform weighing operations on commercial scales, ensuring compliance with state regulations (e.g., NYS compliance) and coordinating bypass procedures during scale maintenance.
Direct Transfilling: When required by site conditions, perform direct transfilling from rail cars to trailers to ensure supply chain continuity.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Analysis & Testing: Conduct required purity testing and sampling for both empty transports and product in storage to verify specifications are met.
Documentation: Issue Certificates of Analysis (COA) and ensure all shipping paperwork and Certificates of Supplemental Analysis (CSCOA) are accurate and reflect the current required revisions.
cGMP Adherence: Maintain current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) to ensure product integrity, particularly for CO2 deliveries.
Analyzer Management: Perform regular calibration of analyzers and maintain quality logs within systems like Intelex.
Safety & Reliability
Hazard Management: Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and obtain necessary Site Work Permits (SHIELD in the Field) for maintenance and high‑risk tasks.
Good Catch Reporting: Proactively identify and report equipment anomalies (e.g., valve packing leaks, PSV issues) to prevent product loss or safety incidents.
Emergency Response: Maintain a deep understanding of the Emergency Action Plan (EAP), including emergency isolation procedures for pipeline and storage systems.
Safety Training: Utilize personal air monitors and adhere to all PPE requirements for handling cryogenic liquids.
General Plant Operations
Process Monitoring: Conduct regular rounds and readings, utilizing the Distributed Control System (DCS) to monitor trends and system performance.
Maintenance Support: Perform minor repairs, such as valve packing adjustments and filter changes, and assist with water treatment management and chemical adjustments.
Site Management: Coordinate site‑specific tasks including snow management to maintain traffic flow and ensure adequate parking for transport trailers.
Inventory Control: Manage site consumables and spare parts, including the organization of storage containers (Conex) for maintenance efficiency.
Required Qualifications
High School or related technical diploma.
Strong technical aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
2 years of experience in an industrial setting.
