Employment: Part‑time, varies by assignment; months of employment: open-ended.
Salary: $1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lecture unit rate; $1,572.67 – $1,725.85 per lab parity unit rate; $1,258.16 – $1,380.60 per lab unit rate.
Job Overview The position is part of a continuous recruitment pool to fill part‑time, temporary faculty assignments on an as‑needed basis. The instructor will teach THEA 141 – Introduction to Technical Theatre , a course held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. during the Spring and Fall semesters. The course has 3 lecture units and 3 lab units.
Responsibilities Develop and deliver lectures, lab sessions, and project‑based learning activities in technical theatre principles.
Assess students’ progress and provide timely feedback.
Maintain course materials, grading rubrics, and syllabi in accordance with department standards.
Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to support student success, particularly for historically under‑represented groups.
Keep up‑to‑date with industry practices and integrate them into the curriculum.
Adhere to health and safety regulations and required certifications (e.g., medical clearance, fingerprints).
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and at least two years of professional experience, or an Associate degree in any discipline and at least six years of professional experience, or a valid California teaching credential for community colleges in the appropriate subject area. Or equivalent qualifications as determined by the district.

Desirable Qualifications Experience teaching technical theatre or related courses, especially introductory classes.

Experience collaborating with under‑represented student initiatives.
