The Position

This position provides media-related technical and academic support services for Ocean County College's campus. This position provides technical support, maintenance, and installation services of A/V infrastructure and equipment for the College. The P/T Audio/Visual Technician supports instructors with classroom technology use and provides assistance for public presentations and performances. Schedule: Mon-Thurs afternoons (12-5pm, 1-6pm OR 2-7pm), plus flexibility for as-needed evening hours or Saturdays to assist with scheduled events or performances.
What You Will Do

1. Provides set-up and support of laptops, projectors, microphones, lighting, and sound systems within conference rooms, auditoriums, classrooms and events; this includes setting up equipment, turning on A/V equipment and providing on call support to events as needed. 2. Configures room set-ups for meetings of various sizes including set-up, operation, and breakdown. 3. Expeditiously handles support tickets involving A/V issues and requests for assistance; provide Tier 2/3 support of A/V equipment utilized in instructional and departmental settings. 4. Provides basic training to end users on A/V equipment and related systems. 5. Installs A/V technologies such as projectors, document cameras, amps, speakers, projection screens, displays, web conferencing cameras and cabling; deploys, delivers and provides equipment and services as requested within established deadlines. 6. Organizes equipment in storage areas including; maintenance, inventory and upkeep A/V equipment, systems and laptops. 7. Provides project support to immediate manager and other designated personnel. 8. Assists with basic troubleshooting and maintenance of A/V equipment; alerts immediate manager of equipment issues, repairs or replacements that may be required. 9. Operates designated vehicles for the delivery of the equipment to various locations around campus. 10. Assists User Services and Help Desk with tasks and projects, as time permits. 11. Related duties and projects as assigned.
The Successful Candidate Must Have

1. Associate's Degree, or H.S. Diploma and technical training or certification, or additional year of experience (total of two years). 2. One year of technical support exp. IT client service/help-desk/media technology; ability to assist with the creation of procedural guides. 3. Excellent customer service skills, high level of self-motivation and demonstrated capacity for understanding when to elevate complex issues to the appropriate parties. 4. Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and/or other applications; ability to master the use of both Mac and Windows PC computers. 5. Willingness to assist with installation projects that may involve working on scaffolding or ladders. 6. New Jersey Driver's License in good standing. 7. Flexible work schedule, may include nights and weekends.
