Job Overview
Community Medical Center is looking for a Director of Graduate Medical Education (GME) who provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for residency and fellowship programs at RWJBH-Community Medical Center. This role ensures total institutional compliance with accreditation standards while leading essential functions like trainee credentialing, onboarding initiatives, and the professional development of program coordinators. As a key liaison, the Director facilitates seamless communication between program leadership, institutional stakeholders, and external regulatory bodies to advance the mission of academic excellence.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience in Graduate Medical Education (GME) administration.
Bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of ACGME accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
Proficiency in GME software systems (e.g., New Innovations, ERAS, WebADs) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.
Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree.
C-TAGME certification
Scheduling Requirements
Full-Time Day Shift (40 hours per week)
Essential Functions
Credentialing and Compliance : Manage all aspects of trainee credentialing, onboarding documentation, and verification; ensure strict adherence to ACGME, NRMP, and state licensing board requirements; maintain audit-ready records and lead internal/external site visit preparations.
Training and Development : Provide mentorship and leadership to GME coordinators across departments, conducting onboarding and ongoing training sessions to ensure operational excellence.
New Hire Orientation : Design and implement comprehensive onboarding processes and orientation schedules for incoming residents and fellows.
Budget and FTE Management : Under the direction of the CAO and in coordination with Finance leadership, manage GME budgets and ensure accurate tracking of resident and fellow FTE allocations.
Data and Technology Management : Oversee the optimization of GME management systems, ensuring data integrity and providing staff training on system functionality.
Communication : Serve as the primary liaison for institutional GME updates, drafting official documentation and disseminating policy changes across all CMC programs.
