Transmission Line Engineer Salem, NH, United States | Position ID: req3035 | Posted on: 6/5/2026 Type of position: Regular Your future role on our team We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Transmission Line Engineer to join our growing engineering team. You'll design and analyze overheadand underground high‐voltage transmission line projects (115 kV to 765 kV). This role offers the opportunity to work on utility‐scale projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic consulting environment. Key responsibilities Perform detailed design of overhead transmission lines, including conductor and shield wire selection, structure spotting and optimization, sag and tension calculations, and clearance analysis. Prepare engineering deliverables such as plan and profile drawings, stringing charts, design calculations, and technical reports. Conduct structural load analysis for poles and towers under wind, ice, and broken‐wire conditions. Coordinate with civil, geotechnical, environmental and survey teams. Review vendor drawings and support procurement activities. Provide engineering support during construction and respond to field inquiries. Ensure designs comply with applicable CSA standards, utility requirements and regulatory guidelines. Provide engineering services and consulting work as a lead designer or supporting team member, building client relationships. Participate in project management activities: cost tracking, deadline management, and resource planning. Lead coordination meetings with clients and internal teams. Conduct site surveys and assessments to inform design decisions. Participate in commissioning equipment at client sites, locally and internationally. Coach and mentor junior and intermediate engineers, fostering technical growth and professional development. Supervise and guide junior team members through complex design projects and problem‐solving processes. Lead design reviews and provide constructive feedback. Support the development of technical skills and career progression for junior team members.
