We’re looking for a strategic, future-forward, creatively driven Director of Social Media to lead the evolution of our social presence. Someone who lives at the intersection of culture, data, storytelling, and brand love. Someone who treats social media not as channels—but as engines of connection, community, and action.
If you’re equal parts strategist, creator, trend-hunter, and team-builder… if you bring agency-level energy with in‑house ownership… if you love brand, love students, and love shaking up a category—this is your moment. Bring us your ideas. Bring us your energy. Bring us something new.
We want to meet you.
What you’ll do
Vision & Strategy
Build and own Sallie’s long-term social media strategy across all channels—established and emerging—aligned to company growth goals and brand pillars.
Define channel roles and differentiated platform strategies that reflect how students search, learn, and connect today.
Lead social listening and trend intelligence to identify cultural, platform, and behavioral shifts that inform strategy.
Elevate community management by extending engagement into broader industry and cultural conversations.
Explore, test, and operationalize new platforms, formats, and technologies.
Build culturally relevant social-first moments that shift perception, spark conversation, and reinforce our mission.
Content & Creative
Help develop social-first content that’s authentic, student-centric, and brand-elevating.
Drive a creative point of view that blends insight, storytelling, and a passion for the craft.
Champion new, bold ideas—anchored in data, relevance, and Sallie’s mission.
Paid, Influencers & Partnerships
Oversee organic social strategy and partner with Growth teams for paid social.
Build a scalable creator/influencer ecosystem that amplifies trust and connection.
Develop platform and brand partnerships that strengthen reach and impact.
Analytics & Optimization
Define KPIs, reporting rhythms, and insights frameworks.
Translate data into actionable recommendations that evolve strategy and improve performance.
Foster a test‑and‑learn culture grounded in insight, creativity, and experimentation.
Team & Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary social team.
Partner across Creative, PR, Product, and Customer Care for unified storytelling.
Ensure social plays a strategic, respected role across the organization.
What You Have
Proven ability to set and execute long-term social strategies for consumer-facing brands.
Deep knowledge of platform best practices, trends, paid social, influencers, and content creation.

A proactive, collaborative leadership style and a passion for authenticity.
