Transmission Line Engineer
We are seeking an engineer to work on electric transmission line design projects for extra high‑voltage (EHV) overhead and underground systems for large utilities in the United States.
Responsibilities
Design EHV overhead and underground electrical systems using NESC, ASCE, ACI, and other applicable standards.
Perform engineering analyses, prepare bidding documents, draft plans and specifications, and develop material procurement and construction documents.
Collaborate with a multi‑person Leidos team, clients, and project planning, environmental, permitting, and construction management personnel.
Assist with voltage conversion, new capacity, and infrastructure replacement projects.
Location
Charlotte, NC area. Candidate must reside in the greater Charlotte area. Hybrid schedule.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE.
2+ years of relevant experience in the design of electric utility transmission systems with a Bachelor’s degree, or 1+ year with a Master’s degree.
Effective teamwork and independent work skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Availability for work in the client office and/or periodic travel.
Desired Experience
Experience with TOWER software.
EIT or PE certification.
Experience with LPILE or FAD, Mathcad, AutoCAD or MicroStation, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Pay Range
$59,150.00 – $106,925.00 (general guideline, actual compensation may vary).
