Position Overview National Account Director is responsible for generating conference business from a local or national market, maximizing sales, and developing potential markets for the Hyatt Regency Grand Reserve Puerto Rico.
Key Responsibilities Generates Room, F&B, Conference services revenue for the property.
Achieves or exceeds revenue goals established by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Creates a quarterly sales strategy plan with targeted business.
Makes personal visits, when necessary, to target areas and calls on companies and organizations within the assigned markets.
Identifies market patterns, trends and lead changes to protect customer share.
Stays abreast of industry trends by monitoring news and making recommendations for operations.
Dedicates time to prospect for new business and utilizes company tools accordingly.
Creates and presents customer presentations as required.
Utilizes Envision (Hyatt CRM) to maintain account files and book repeat business.
Responds to all leads from assigned areas and tracks dates for follow‑up within company standards.
Sets up site inspections and follows through.
Delivers creative proposals meeting customer needs.
Attends trade shows, conferences, meetings, seminars and functions through industry associations.
Participates in community networking opportunities.
Develops and maintains relationships with customers.
Follows up with customers in a timely manner under department guidelines.
Conducts follow‑up conversations to gain feedback and take lead on customer concerns after meetings.
Resolves customer complaints, problems and other issues that may interfere with sales operations.
Maintains contact with meeting planners and maintains memberships and contacts in hotel industry associations.
Consults with potential customers to understand their needs and suggests suitable products and services.
Reviews and analyzes sales and operation records and reports to identify potential new accounts.
Works closely with conference services team to ensure delivery beyond expectations.
Partners with other hotel teams as required.
Promotes all Pyramid properties and achieves quarterly Slingshot (referral) lead goals.
Attends internal meetings as required.
Performs general office duties and assists other departments as required.
Works on special projects assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing.
Qualifications Minimum of two years of college education; degree desirable.
Minimum of two years’ experience in hospitality sales management.
Experience in Government, Education and Healthcare markets preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred experience in hotel sales or related industry.
Self‑motivated, outgoing, professional and pleasant personality.
Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of major market segments.
Excellent presentation, communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Proven negotiation and sales skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
Willingness to learn, adapt and travel as needed.
Creative problem‑solving and proactive account management.
