Overview
BJC HealthCare is a large nonprofit healthcare organization serving the greater St. Louis, southern Illinois and southeast Missouri regions. With over 30,000 employees, BJC provides a wide range of health services through its hospitals and community locations.
Information Services (IS) supports mission critical system development, implementation and support for BJC’s hospitals and health service organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
The BJC Career Development Intern Program (CDIP) supports the pipeline initiatives of BJC Healthcare. Most internship assignments are project‑based. Students will work part‑time during the school year and full‑time during the summer. Students must be enrolled in a degree program; preference is given to those who have completed at least the first year.
Students will have exposure to a variety of professional experiences:
Professional development training and workshops
Extensive networking opportunities
Interaction with senior leaders
A dedicated support network
Role Purpose
The CDIP will support BJC healthcare initiatives and help develop professional experience for interns.
Responsibilities
Navigates project requests using critical thinking skills.
Communicates effectively with staff and project leaders.
Takes initiative to identify additional work not assigned that enhances the effort with logical next steps.
Excels in a team‑based environment.
Solves problems using creativity and innovation.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Enrolled undergraduate degree program.
Preferred Requirements
Experience: Less than 2 years.
Supervisor Experience: None.
