Responsibilities
Lead a dedicated team of speech-language pathologists and a symbol board technician, set departmental goals, and ensure residents receive exceptional speech, language, and communication services. Oversee clinical quality, mentor clinicians in creating innovative, person-centered programs, and promote effective use of assistive technology. Through hands‑on leadership, collaboration, and creative problem‑solving, inspire the team to deliver services that enrich communication, independence, and overall quality of life for every resident.

Qualifications

Experience evaluating and treating speech, language, and hearing disorders in adults and/or children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including work with augmentative and alternative communication devices (AAC).

Experience supervising professional staff, conducting evaluations, and coordinating integrated treatment plans.

Demonstrated success collaborating with interdisciplinary teams (medical, nursing, OT, PT, special education).

Proven experience managing communication and swallowing disorders and understanding their impact on health and safety.

Uses clinical outcomes, quality metrics, and feedback to guide program improvements.

Minimum Education and Experience
Licensed by the Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiology and four years of professional diagnostic and treatment experience.

Physical Requirements
Exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally and/or 10 pounds frequently; job rated as Light Work. Requires visual acuity for tasks such as data preparation, monitor viewing, reading, inspection, and operation of measurement devices.

Shift Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with variation.
