News Photographer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox 2 News (WJBK) has an immediate full‑time job opening for a Photographer/Editor who will shoot and edit spot news, feature stories and sports.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform LiveU live shots from in and around the Detroit area on an expected daily basis.

Demonstrate high‑caliber news photography shooting and editing skills.

Shoot and edit multiple packages per day in the field; be technically proficient with the editing software Edius.

Lift over fifty (50) pounds of equipment, walk carrying a tripod, batteries and Live U backpack.

Communicate and work well with Assignment Desk, Writers, and Reporters.

Work Environment:

Willing to work in extreme hot/cold weather conditions and to work weekends, holidays, and overnights.

In‑house studio/control‑room conditions with temperatures 55 to 75 degrees and humidity 10 to 70+ percent.

Outside conditions vary with Michigan weather.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma required; college degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 3–5 years.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $24.66‑39.99 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
