Responsibilities
Lead a regional sales team, recruiting, hiring, training, developing, and managing MRD Clinical Account Executives.
Achieve MRD regional sales objectives, including revenue and expenses.
Develop and execute regional and territory business plans.
Direct execution of sales strategies, tactics, and implementation of sales and marketing plans.
Manage business results, sales activities, and cross‑functional initiatives for the specific regional geography.
Make day‑to‑day decisions to manage business functions, deploy resources, allocate costs, and direct business activities.
Secure and analyze regional market intelligence, environmental factors, and political landscape to identify key issues and develop actionable solutions.
Develop and maintain key customer relationships with target audiences; assist in developing mutually beneficial business solutions using broader business scenarios and customer‑focused models.
Plan and conduct regional sales meetings to convey existing and new product knowledge and applications, enhancing and developing sales and business skills.
Evaluate performance of MRD Clinical Account Executives and maintain product and market knowledge.
Identify contracting opportunities with academic medical centers, large cancer centers, health systems, and other key accounts.
Provide management oversight of Tempus’s CRM solution for the defined geographic region.
Work collaboratively with cross‑functional partners to access resources and maximize outcomes.
Required Skills
Deep domain knowledge of the Diagnostic Services industry.
MRD and Molecular Diagnostic experience strongly preferred.
Experience selling Oncology‑based tests and services into Oncology and Surgery clinical communities preferred.
Experience within complex selling environments required.
Demonstrated success in recruiting, hiring, developing and retaining talent.
Ability to prioritize and align organizational goals and objectives; enable innovation.
Ability to develop and utilize cross‑functional relationships to facilitate accomplishment of work goals and objectives.
Ability to provide an integrated MolDx/SaaS solution using Tempus’s sequencing technology to prospects and customers.
Ability to engage in a consultative selling process that overcomes objections and indifferences while connecting client needs with Tempus’s capabilities.
Comfortable selling at the executive level (CEO, COO, CFO).
Keen understanding of the payer and reimbursement environment in the oncology and diagnostic space.
Ability to work independently, communicate proactively, manage multiple projects and prioritize daily tasks while meeting critical deadlines.
Problem solving, decision making and technical learning abilities.
Advanced written and oral communication skills.
Strong administrative skills.
Strategic planning and sales strategy development expertise.
Experience managing the financial dynamics of a commercial organization.
Expertise in health care with emphasis on molecular diagnostics, genomics, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and oncology.

Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
Consistent closing abilities throughout the sales cycle.
Positive attitude and understanding of organizational growth and change dynamics.
Impeccable oral and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Effective and regular use of Salesforce.com.
Advanced presentation skills and business acumen.

Required Education and Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a relevant industry/commercial environment (pharmaceutical, diagnostics, research products) as a sales manager, leading a team of 8+ reps.
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
Track record of success in a management role.
Frequent travel (~50%) throughout the territory as needed.
