About The Opportunity
The Digital Press Assistant is responsible for helping with setting up and operating a digital printing press to written and/or verbal instructions, established company procedure, and safety and quality guidelines. The Digital Press Assistant Operator will be expected to learn the next job in the line of progression and step‑up as needed.

Essential Job Functions

Demonstrate commitment to safety and perform job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures

Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements

Verify job specifications such as size, color and type of paper and color of ink from job order

Obtain substrate and related supplies needed to produce the job

Assist with press set‑up according to established company guidelines, safety and job requirements

Print proof sheets to check press set‑up

Print job maintaining optimum production rate, color density, registration, and quality standard within company and customer guidelines, and make press adjustments as required

Maintain high efficiency according to established rates during operation of the assigned equipment

Troubleshoot and make decisions regarding the quality of finished product

Complete required quality inspections and paperwork

Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance – quality is the responsibility of all employees

Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned equipment and surrounding area

Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements

Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives

Perform other duties as assigned by management/supervisors

Education / Certification
High school diploma or equivalent

Work Experience
Corrugated manufacturing and converting experience highly desired

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Safety sensitive position – ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner

Ability to work overtime and weekends as required based upon the needs of the business

Ability to work on a rotating shift as needed

Ability to effectively work in teams

Ability to work in a production‑based environment with moving equipment and people

Ability to interact and communicate effectively with a wide variety of roles

Ability to perform all computer functions as they pertain to the job
