You'll collaborate daily with a tight‑knit team of journalists covering everything from breaking news and severe weather to sports and the issues shaping life across Colorado. General Responsibilities
Work alongside our reporters gathering breaking news as it happens and conducting live shots.
Shoot quality, compelling, and creative visual content.
Ensure that all pictures and sounds are of the highest quality and properly recorded.
Operate ENG news vans, drive station vehicle to assignments and report all maintenance problems to supervisor.
Maintain assigned equipment in good working order and report equipment problems to supervisor.
Edit daily stories under deadline pressure using non-linear editing systems.
Deliver work within newscast deadlines.
Uphold journalistic, ethical and professional standards consistent with company policies and values.
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have a passion for news and experience with video photojournalism. 2-3 years of experience preferred.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Knowledge of existing and evolving newsgathering technologies.
Experience with Avid products is a bonus.
Requirements
Must have a valid US driver's license with unrestricted ability to drive.
Must be physically able to carry, shoulder and shoot with a broadcast ENG camera (25 lbs. or more), as well as carry support equipment (i.e., tripod, lights, etc.).
Must be available to work weekends, long hours or varying shifts when necessary to meet production and broadcast deadlines in all kinds of possible weather conditions.
Salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job‑related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
