Placement Program Supervisor
The Montana Department of Corrections (DOC) is creating a safer Montana through accountability, rehabilitation, and empowerment. The DOC is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Program Specialist Supervisor. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the processes and procedures for generating and screening applications for community corrections programs and to support a team of up to five staff members.
Responsibilities
Assess program and client needs and ensure program objectives are met
Work with community members and other stakeholders to identify necessary programs and services
Identify, suggest, or implement improvements to programs and services
Plan and oversee outreach activities
Review, interpret, and monitor compliance with guidelines, laws, and regulations
Prepare reports; investigate complaints and suspected violations
Coordinate activities of program committees or other groups and plan procedures
Supervise at least two FTE employees and perform management functions including hiring, firing, performance management, discipline, work distribution, and employee development
Ensure staff deliver programs of appropriate quality and that resources are used effectively
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in criminology, sociology, criminal justice, psychology, social work, or related field
Five years of experience working with the criminal justice system, preferably within the State of Montana
Knowledge of placement options, statutes, and alternatives within the Montana DOC
Experience with data tracking that emphasizes quality, accuracy, and system integrity
