Production Supervisor (2nd Shift – Assembly Operations)

Assignment is anticipated to be a 6‑month contract with potential extension; however, Apex Systems cannot guarantee the length of this assignment.

Shift schedule: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday–Friday.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a production team to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets within a manufacturing environment.

Promote and maintain a safe workplace by identifying risks, implementing mitigation strategies, and reinforcing safe work behaviors.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives by standardizing processes, improving workflows, and increasing team engagement.

Oversee daily operations of the assembly area to ensure efficiency, productivity, and adherence to operational standards.

Lead, coach, and develop team members to improve performance, skillsets, and overall effectiveness.

Monitor employee performance and initiate appropriate actions such as training, coaching, or corrective measures as needed.

Build and maintain strong relationships with team members and cross‑functional partners to support operational goals.

Manage workforce planning, competencies, and development to ensure the team meets current and future production needs.

Support implementation of departmental and organizational initiatives, ensuring alignment from leadership to floor‑level execution.

Communicate effectively with team members to ensure clarity on expectations, performance metrics, and contributions to overall business objectives.

Foster a positive, team‑oriented work environment that encourages collaboration, accountability, and engagement.

Experience and Qualifications

Associate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment (or equivalent combination of experience and education).

Proven ability to lead teams in a fast‑paced, high‑volume production setting.

Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and standardizing processes.

Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and organizational levels.

Ability to manage competing priorities and make effective decisions in a dynamic environment.

Strong problem‑solving and organizational skills.
