Position
Morning Show Producer
at KING 5 News in Seattle. This role focuses on elevating our #1 ranked morning newscasts, embracing bold decisions, and delivering urgent, engaging, and energetic newscasts. The candidate should be a driven, tenacious, and creative producer with strong writing skills and a willingness to lead and take calculated risks, with a priority on breaking news.
Responsibilities
Craft compelling newscasts that emphasize breaking news, enterprise content, emotion, and showcasing.
Work directly with the Executive Producer, anchors, and news leaders to consistently build a high-quality news show.
Be a leader in the newsroom.
Demonstrate strong news judgment and understand the tenants of ethical journalism.
Be aggressive in covering breaking news and manage the newscast’s timing.
Produce unique content for multi-platforms, including broadcast and digital.
Write accurate, urgent, and engaging copy.
Use creative production techniques such as graphics, pre-production, and unique camera shots.
Calmly handle live and breaking news in the control room.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience.
At least 2 years of producing experience in a medium or large market.
Strong news judgment and use of analytics to make bold editorial decisions.
Organizational skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Shifts could include overnight hours, holidays, and weekends.
Knowledge of ENPS, Edius, editing, and content management systems is a plus.
Pay
Pay Range: $29.81 to $36.06 USD

A Paid Time Off (PTO) program and nine paid holidays per year are offered. Some jobs may be covered by a collective bargaining agreement; benefits may vary for newsroom bargaining unit employees.
