Primary Role
Responsible for the day-to-day servicing, retention, and growth of assigned commercial lines accounts. Works closely with Producers and clients to ensure coverage aligns with risk exposures and agency standards. Grow the book and make it more permanent.
Reports To: Operations Manager
Core Responsibilities
Re-market renewal business in accordance with agency marketing procedures
Deliver proactive client service and maintain strong client relationships
Perform annual account reviews and risk exposure analysis
Identify coverage gaps and recommend appropriate solutions (account rounding/up-selling)
Answer client questions and perform day-to-day service based tasks such as: issuing Certificates of Insurance, answering client questions, and performing changes on existing policies.
Expanded Duties & Expectations
Clearly explain coverage terms, exclusions, and carrier requirements to clients
Prepare and assist Producers for renewal meetings, follow-through on renewal changes
Document all client communications thoroughly in AMS (including coverage discussions and decisions)
Confirm key underwriting representations with clients (e.g., operations, safeguards, compliance)
Coordinate with carriers and underwriters to negotiate favorable coverage and pricing
Assist with claims advocacy and act as liaison between client and carrier
Maintain awareness of carrier appetites, underwriting changes, and market conditions
Ensure timely processing of endorsements, certificates, binders, and policy changes
Manage renewal timelines to avoid lapses in coverage
Support cross-selling initiatives by identifying additional product opportunities
Verify that coverage aligns with the insured’s actual operations and risk exposures
Advise clients of any discrepancies between application information and real-world operations
Provide clear warnings regarding policy conditions (e.g., protective safeguards, warranties)
Help clients understand the impact of non-compliance on claim outcomes
Follow agency procedures to minimize E&O exposure
Qualifications & Education
Industry designations (CISR, CIC, or similar) preferred
Skills & Knowledge
Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverages (Property, GL, WC, Auto, Cyber, Environmental)
Knowledge of underwriting, claims handling, and brokerage operations
Strong communication and client advisory skills
Proficiency with AMS, Outlook, Excel, carrier systems, and document management tools
Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines effectively
