Director I, Production

Responsibilities:
- Direct daily newscasts in studio using Sony ELC Automated Production System, ENPS newsroom software, Ross Xpression Graphics.
- Edit video using Adobe Premiere.
- Photographer using various professional video cameras and DSLRs.
- Location production – director, replay operator, shooter, audio operator.
- Assist in all aspects of setup of location broadcasts.
- Assist in repair and upkeep of studio, sets and production equipment.
- Pass GA DOT driver certification and drive truck towing 24-foot production trailer.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of two years of television directing experience preferred.
- Deep working knowledge of television production techniques and production automation necessary.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work effectively with a diverse community.
- Creative decision-making skills.
- Organizational skills and ability to establish priorities.
- Knowledge of professional audio/video equipment.
- Expert knowledge of professional audio and/or video editing and post-production procedures, techniques, and standards.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and during breaking news events.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
A Director must be able to sit for long periods of time directing newscasts and other programs, conduct telephone conversations, use electronic mail, write letters and memos, conduct face-to-face discussions with individuals, make decisions without supervision, and work in close proximity to others. The Director must be able to lift, set up and operate equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, pass GA DOT driver certification and drive truck towing large trailers, and perform work outdoors in all weather conditions and indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
