Location: Jackson, MI Onsite (Local candidates will be considered.)
Duration: Until Jun 2027 (with a possibility of extension)
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone-in-a-box operations from the Drone Operations Center.
- Operate Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for inspections of utility infrastructure, including power lines, pipelines, and substations.
- Perform pre-flight inspections and ensure equipment readiness.
- Collect, document, and report infrastructure inspection data.
- Assist with UAS equipment maintenance and minor troubleshooting/repairs.
- Follow FAA regulations, safety procedures, and company operational guidelines.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of drone/UAS operations and maintenance.
- Ability to read and follow flight plans and operational procedures.
- Strong attention to detail for data collection and reporting.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of safety standards and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License (Required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Aviation, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience or interest in utility inspections, drone operations, or technical fieldwork.
Target Background
Candidates with drone/UAS experience, aviation training, technical/engineering exposure, military drone operations, GIS, surveying, utility inspection, or related technical field experience.
