About the Company
Our client is a leading North American processor and marketer of value‑added frozen goods. They are looking for a Director of Commercial FP&A; who will lead the Commercial FP&A and Commercial Business Insights teams supporting the Commercial Sales, Analytics & Planning divisions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and maintenance of financial models, including sensitivity analyses, to support overall business objectives.
- Assist in the development of annual and long‑term financial plans, including participation in the design of the annual business planning framework.
- Lead end‑to‑end budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting for Retail and Foodservice, including the development of the three‑year strategy and serve as the single trusted source of commercial financial truth.
- Drive standardization and automation of FP&A processes to shift the team from people‑reliant to process‑reliant and create capacity for forward‑looking decision support.
- Gather, analyze and report financial results and insights to leadership.
- Lead Commercial Business Insights: provide commercial decision support across Retail and Foodservice, own commercial unit economics, and deliver customer and product profitability insights.
- Provide forward‑looking strategic enablement—identify opportunities, quantify the benefit, and measure and track realization—including analyses of new business opportunities, partnerships, alliances and acquisitions.
- Support marketing to drive current brand strategies.
- Analyze complex financial information to develop models and provide recommendations to senior management.
- Research and analyze key business drivers, trends and performance indicators.
- Lead trade as a strategic enabler—governing trade strategy, effectiveness and ROI—and partner with the Pricing & Costing team to ensure pricing decisions reflect commercial insight.
- Partner and collaborate with management teams to gather, analyze and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, operating forecasts and other analytical projects.
- Oversee analyses in areas such as budgets, forecasts, financial plans, cash flow projections and business forecasts.
- Prepare required presentations for board of directors and senior management.
- Develop and elevate team capability—building role‑based competencies, ensuring team members understand the “why” not just the “how,” and preparing the team for the FP&A of the future.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, finance or a related area. MBA/CPA preferred.
- 12‑15 years of previous experience in finance roles.
- At least 7 years of previous management experience.
- Previous experience supporting Retail and Foodservice businesses in North America, with exposure to commercial decision support, trade management and/or pricing.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and modern FP&A tooling, including data, analytics and automation platforms; familiarity with Generative AI applications in finance is an asset.
- Advanced analytical skills.
Salary Range
$180,000 – $200,000/year.
