The Director, Digital Strategy - Homepage & App (Sam's Club) leads the development and execution of comprehensive digital initiatives that align with business objectives and enhance corporate reputation. This role drives digital transformation by leveraging analytics, emerging technologies, and strategic communications to optimize internal and external engagement. Collaborating with senior leadership and cross‑functional teams, the director ensures effective digital advocacy, content strategy, and platform innovation. About the team
The Digital Experience and Engagement (DX&E) team serves as the strategic link between enterprise‑wide Activation Planning and the digital member journey. By integrating the Homepage and App experiences with detailed funnel analytics, the team transforms innovative business concepts into impactful commercial outcomes. Focused on advancing digital transformation, the team collaborates across functions to design and execute strategies that enhance digital communications and reputation management. Joining this team means contributing to shaping the digital future of a leading global brand through leadership, analytics and effective internal communications.
What you’ll do
- Own the end‑to‑end commercial strategy for the Homepage and Sam’s Club App, ensuring both platforms serve as high‑converting entry points for the member.
- Lead the transition from iterative site updates to a bold, AI‑driven curation strategy that weaves enterprise priorities into a personalized member journey.
- Shift focus from pure adoption to deepening the member experience and driving visit frequency.
- Leverage the Tempo platform and Glass migration to push the boundaries of geotargeted testing and layout optimisation.
- Lead experimentation that exceeds engagement targets while maintaining flat bounce rates.
- Navigate a complex stakeholder environment, aligning with Marketing, Merchandising and Product teams to drive a cohesive digital experience.

Salary and Locations
Bentonville, Arkansas (US‑08376): $110,000.00 – $220,000.00 per year.
San Bruno, California (US‑08848): $143,000.00 – $286,000.00 per year.
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses and, for certain positions, regional pay‑zone adjustments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Business or a related field and five years’ experience in public relations, communications or a related field, or seven years’ experience in those fields.
- Two years’ supervisory experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing and implementing issue advocacy or grassroots projects.
- Experience in developing digital communication channels.
- Experience in Walmart Communications, Marketing or a related field.
- Experience managing digital platforms or social networks.
