Role Overview

Audio engineers apply technical audio production and signal processing skills to evaluate and improve AI systems'' understanding of real-world audio workflows and professional tasks in the audio domain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Use your audio engineering expertise to help AI better interpret and perform audio-related professional tasks.
  • Develop domain-specific prompts and test cases for language models and multimodal systems.
  • Evaluate model outputs, including assessing quality, accuracy, and fidelity of responses related to audio workflows.
  • Provide detailed feedback and documentation to guide model improvement.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years of professional experience using one or more of the following tools: Audacity, Ardour, Linux Multi-Media Studio, or other comparable technical audio tools.
  • Ability to work asynchronously with distributed AI research teams, communicating results and feedback clearly in writing.
Work Terms
  • Location: Remote.
  • Employment type: Part-time.
  • Work is asynchronous and independent, with flexible hours and no minimum hourly commitment.
  • The program runs year-round. Project opportunities open periodically across different specialties, and placement into a specific project depends on project availability.
Compensation
  • Up to $125/hr (depending on the project)
Eligibility
  • F-1 students who are eligible for CPT or OPT may be eligible to participate. Consult your Designated School Official to confirm whether a given project meets your school''s CPT or OPT requirements.
  • If your school requires enrollment in a CPT course, these projects may not qualify. STEM OPT is not supported.
