Personal Lines Account Manager
McGowan Insurance Group is looking for a Personal Lines Account Manager to maintain and service assigned personal lines accounts.

Position Summary
The Personal Lines Account Manager is responsible for day-to-day maintenance and servicing of assigned Personal Lines accounts, including but not limited to:

Maintaining a high level of customer service and satisfaction

Marketing & placement of renewal accounts as appropriate

Achieving agency account retention goals through proactive account rounding, up‑selling of limits and coverages, and by providing extraordinary customer service

Key Responsibilities

Support producers’ sales efforts by handling accounts once bound.

Perform annual reviews and risk exposure analysis of renewal policies for proper coverage, incorporating information obtained from customers.

Maintain customer files and ensure proper documentation by processing all policies, endorsement changes, invoices, binders, certificates of insurance, documentation activities, etc., according to agency procedures and within agency timelines.

Maintain control of renewal expiration lists, binders, and any aged receivables in accordance with agency guidelines.

Respond to customer inquiries, incoming e‑mail, mail, and company requests in accordance with agency guidelines.

Review all items to be processed to ensure they were received as ordered.

Participate in courses for insurance/sales skills. Maintain current knowledge of underwriting requirements of carriers and keep current with industry trends by reading appropriate journals and company bulletins.

Participate in any special projects at management’s request.

Qualifications

Current Indiana Property and Casualty License required.

Experience servicing personal lines insurance accounts.

Thorough knowledge of brokerage operations, including procedures and applicable insurance laws/codes.

Experience operating in an electronic environment using tools such as Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, OneDrive, Teams, etc.), agency management systems (preferably AMS360 or Applied Epic), and carrier proprietary systems.

Excellent time management, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

High degree of self‑motivation and self‑direction.

Keen attention to detail.

Confidentiality of financial, employee, and customer information.

Must be able to work with occasional instruction and supervision.

Ability to pass a criminal background check, as permitted by law.

Hours
Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
