What You Will Do

The Acoustic Engineer is an early‑career engineer with developing expertise in sound and vibration, supporting industrial HVAC equipment such as chillers and heat pumps. In this role, you will apply your technical skills across a range of activities, from prototype development to customer field support. You will work on‑site as part of a team of sound and vibration experts and collaborate closely with product engineering, marketing, technical services, and sales. This position offers the opportunity to grow your expertise in acoustics and HVAC applications while contributing to new and existing technologies. The position is located onsite at our Advanced Development Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA. Candidates must be within commuting distance, or able to relocate. Various relocation packages are available.
How You Will Do It

Conduct acoustic testing of chillers and air handlers in accordance with AHRI standards and industry best practice.
Plan and execute test activities, including instrumentation setup, data collection, analysis, and reporting of results.
Provide technical guidance to internal teams (engineering, applications) and support external customer inquiries as needed.
Research patents and technical literature to identify state‑of‑the‑art solutions and develop innovative noise control strategies.
Participate in design reviews to ensure sound and vibration considerations are incorporated early in development.
Support the development of product sound ratings for marketing and sales use.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to product acoustics and test methods.
Assume sound and vibration responsibility within cross‑functional engineering teams.
Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related science.
2+ years of professional experience as an Acoustics Engineer.
Background in acoustics, vibration, or signal processing.
Preferred

Advanced degree in acoustics or coursework emphasizing acoustics and vibration.
Experience in a testing laboratory and with acoustic measurement systems (e.g., sound level meters, intensity probes, microphones, accelerometers).
Knowledge of Acoustic Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or Statistical Energy Analysis (SEA).
Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB, Python, or similar).
Compensation & Benefits

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $100,000. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
