Role Description
The Sr. Audio Visual Technician is a full-time, on-site position based in Tampa, FL. This role is responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting audio visual (AV) systems in conference rooms, training spaces, and secure environments. The technician will perform daily setup and operation of video conferencing equipment, projectors, displays, microphones, speakers, and lighting controls, ensuring high-quality audio and video for meetings and events. Duties include diagnosing and troubleshooting AV issues, coordinating with IT and facilities teams, performing routine maintenance, and documenting system configurations and service activities. The Sr. Audio Visual Technician will also assist with system upgrades, user training, and adherence to security and agency‑specific standards.

Qualifications

Demonstrated expertise in Audio Visual (AV) Systems, including installation, configuration, and integration.

Strong Troubleshooting skills for diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.

Hands‑on experience with Video Conferencing platforms and room‑based conferencing solutions.

Practical knowledge of Lighting controls and optimization for presentations and video sessions.

Proficiency in setting up and maintaining Projectors, displays, and related presentation equipment.

Experience in structured cabling, AV rack builds, and signal flow (HDMI, SDI, IP‑based AV) is beneficial.

Ability to communicate clearly with non‑technical users and provide basic end‑user training on AV systems.

Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple concurrent events or projects.

Prior experience supporting AV in government, military, or secure environments is a plus.

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in AV or IT is preferred.
