Responsibilities

Oversee two reporters and mentor staff
Write several news stories each week, covering health, education, opinion, and other pages
Produce content for the health, education, opinion, and other sections of the paper
Clerk obituaries, announcements, and press releases
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in editorial or journalism at a newspaper or similar media outlet
Strong writing and leadership skills
Ability to work Monday–Thursday; Friday‑closed status remains in place and flexible weekend scheduling is required
Other Information

The position offers health insurance, a laid‑back work environment, and support from the current editor during transition. Candidates who rely on automated AI writing for news stories are not considered.
