Role Overview
The Social Content Manager is a social‑first creative strategist responsible for developing and executing breakthrough content ideas, platform‑native storytelling, and creative campaigns that help brands earn attention and cultural relevance. This role sits at the intersection of creative strategy, content production, and social innovation, transforming insights, trends, and business objectives into content that resonates. They will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to translate brand goals into innovative, social‑first ideas while overseeing the development of lo‑fi style content that feels native to each platform.

The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and obsessed with beauty, culture, and content that drives conversation. They understand how social storytelling and creative execution can build brands, spark engagement, and drive performance across organic, paid, and owned channels.

Responsibilities

Create thumb‑stopping, culturally relevant creative that amplifies our brands and fuels community love.

Oversee the creation and curation of compelling content, ensuring it reflects the brand voice, aesthetics, and seasonal narratives.

Develop and package ideas for brand moments, product storytelling, and creative campaigns, scaling concepts from quick‑turn social executions to larger storytelling initiatives.

Develop social‑first creative concepts and campaign ideas.

Build content franchises and recurring series.

Translate brand strategy into platform‑native content.

Create briefs for creators, designers, editors, and production partners.

Present concepts to clients via creative decks and virtual meetings.

Ideate and oversee lo‑fi content production, from concept to posting — ensuring authenticity and platform fit.

Demonstrate ability to concept, shoot, direct, or produce social‑first content.

Deeply understand what performs in short‑form video environments.

Experience briefing creators and guiding content production.

Ensure content ladders up to channel strategy, audience targeting, and product priorities, taking a holistic 360° view across organic social, paid, influencer, email, and retention.

Keep a constant pulse on social‑first trends, particularly on TikTok, and identify timely opportunities for brand participation.

Research beauty and social media industry trends, competitor strategies, and content innovations to inform creative direction.

Share weekly creative insights and trend roundups with internal teams and clients.

Work hand‑in‑hand with the Content Creator team to develop holistic content plans to meet the needs of each client and outline plans for in‑house and external talent to produce.

Partner closely with the Performance Marketing, Retention and Social Media teams to develop and execute smart, unexpected creative content and storytelling in alignment with brand identity aesthetics.

Collaborate with the Social Media team to brainstorm campaign and always‑on content strategies, tailored to the editorial calendar and emerging best‑practices.

Lead creative performance reporting, tracking engagement metrics and translating them into actionable insights.

Conduct A/B testing for social content to identify what drives performance and creative resonance.

Identify creative trends, wins, and learnings to continuously refine content approach.

Provide examples of social‑first creative concepts and campaigns that resulted in measurable engagement or business impact.

Experience building content franchises or recurring social series.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field; a Master's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline is a plus.

Diverse portfolio of both photo and video examples across multiple verticals.

Minimum of 2+ years of relevant agency experience in creative and social media.

Excellent interpersonal skills, specifically a capacity for collaboration.

Deep knowledge of brand strategy, social strategy, development, and marketing.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to address complex strategic challenges.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to adapt to changing industry trends and market dynamics.
