The Orchestration Development Engineer Lead is a senior, hands‑on technical leader responsible for the architecture, development, and evolution of orchestration frameworks across distributed, event‑driven, and cloud‑native platforms.
This role requires deep expertise in Java‑based microservices, the Spring Framework, enterprise integration patterns, and messaging‑driven systems. You will design and lead orchestration solutions that connect services, data stores, APIs, and AI/ML pipelines while ensuring high availability, observability, and operational excellence.
You will also mentor engineers, define engineering best practices, and drive the adoption of modern DevOps, automation, and intelligent data workflow patterns.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement enterprise orchestration solutions using Java, Spring Framework, and microservices architecture.
Apply enterprise integration patterns and software design patterns to build scalable and maintainable orchestration workflows.
Build and manage event‑driven architectures using messaging platforms such as Kafka, Apache Camel, and Apache Karavan.
Translate complex business, operational, and data workflows into resilient orchestration logic.
Develop orchestration layers for data ingestion, aggregation, enrichment, and predictive analytics.
Build and manage Kafka producers, consumers, schedulers, and streaming workflows.
Integrate and orchestrate platforms across diverse data stores including Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MariaDB, and MySQL.
Support real‑time and near‑real‑time analytics use cases through robust workflow design.
Ensure orchestration components are cloud‑native, containerized, and Kubernetes‑ready.
Drive platform scalability, fault tolerance, security, and system integration best practices.
Support deployment and operations across modern cloud environments.
Observability, Reliability & Resilience
Embed observability‑by‑design using tools such as Jaeger, Prometheus, Logstash, Grafana, and cloud‑native monitoring solutions.
Implement resilience patterns including retries, circuit breakers, idempotency, and compensating transactions.
Enable deep system visibility across distributed services, APIs, and event streams.
Technical Leadership
Serve as the technical lead for orchestration and integration initiatives.
Mentor and guide engineers on architecture, system design, code quality, and engineering best practices.
Collaborate closely with architects, platform engineers, QA, DevOps, and product teams to ensure successful delivery.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
6–10+ years of experience in software engineering, distributed systems, or platform development.
Expert‑level experience with:
Java and Spring Framework (all modules)
Data structures and algorithms
Messaging technologies such as Kafka, Azure Event Hubs, and IBM Event Streams
Deep experience with cloud‑native development, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Strong understanding of distributed system architecture and event‑driven design principles.
Experience integrating automation and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving capabilities.
Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with sustainability, analytics, or data intelligence platforms.
Hands‑on experience with AI/ML pipelines, vector databases, and LLM‑based applications.
Exposure to IoT data ingestion and real‑time streaming architectures.
Knowledge of manufacturing systems, MES platforms (e.g., SiView, Fab300), and equipment automation.
Familiarity with ERP integration strategies and Enterprise Application Integration (EAI).
Ability to travel as needed to support customer engagements and business initiatives.
Relevant certifications in cloud platforms, ITIL, ISO 20000, COBIT, or related technologies.
