Provide audiovisual and videoconference technical support for high level, complex multimedia events in conference rooms and event spaces; provide expertise and guidance to clients and technical and operational feedback to engineering and management.
Duties & Responsibilities
Set up, operate and strike conference room systems including varying types of microphones and sound amplification systems, data/video displays and projection systems, AV device control systems, simultaneous interpretation (SI), videoconferencing equipment, computer control systems, video switching, professional audio and video recording systems and video streaming
Verify, test, troubleshoot and monitor video conference connections prior to and during meetings
Perform AV equipment troubleshooting and testing
Set up and operate professional portable broadcast cameras for recording and video conferencing
Ability to set up PowerPoint presentations, connecting laptop and desktop computers with display interfaces to portable and data projectors; able to correctly size and adjust a data image on-screen
Ability to set up audio systems consisting of microphones, mixer, amplifier, and speakers and adjust system for good speech level with no feedback; other audio sources such as computer audio and/or CD/DVD playback may also be required to connect to mixer
Report system anomalies, equipment problems, customer relations issues or any other daily event concerns that arise
Assist with departmental projects such as SOP revisions, equipment inventory, Spring & Annual Meetings and other special events
Other duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
Excellent customer service skills and professional presence
Strong knowledge of current AV & VC industry practices, standards and procedures
High level of problem solving skills and the ability to recommend and implement alternative set-up and/or operations for complex systems
Solid experience with microphone systems, digital audio consoles, Polycom and Cisco videoconferencing equipment, SI equipment, video systems, lighting equipment, computers, device control systems
Familiarity with computer networks (LANs, net connections and IP)
Familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint software to assist presenters with simple adjustments
Capability to read and understand wiring diagrams, CAD drawings and schematics
Ability to read, speak and effectively communicate in the English language
Ability to thrive in a multicultural and multilingual environment
Skilled with hand and power tools
Solid work ethic
Additional video production skills such as camera operation, live event audio, editing, or field experience are desirable
Candidate must be willing to undergo background check
The duties of this position require the ability to stand for long periods of time, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb ladders
Candidate must be capable of working at heights and have good balance
Candidate may be required to lift heavy equipment up to 50 pounds
Adverse conditions may include noise and dust
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Audio/Electronic Engineering or related field preferred; or Technical school training with electronics training and related experience
4+ years’ experience with the setup, operation and troubleshooting of conference rooms, auditoriums, theater, hotels and/or broadcast environment
