Job Summary
The Sr Fiduciary Strategist fulfills fiduciary responsibilities for KeyBank by providing client advisory services to high‑net‑worth clients and their beneficiaries. As a member of the Key Private Bank relationship management team, the role represents the local delivery of services to clients with appropriate revenue and advisory needs, collaborating in person with team members to build insights and solutions, attract, retain, and grow client relationships.
Essential Functions
Lead the delivery of fiduciary advice and client servicing to ensure consistent advisory delivery and manage fiduciary risk.
Develop a strong understanding of family relationships and client needs, review and monitor estate planning documents, and analyze legal instruments.
Provide well‑coordinated estate, tax and financial planning alternatives; facilitate the estate, tax and philanthropic planning process.
Identify trust and estate tax issues, collaborate with external advisors, and resolve issues.
Work closely with the Relationship Management Team to identify and prioritize opportunities to deepen relationships and identify investment and trust opportunities.
Assess client revenue opportunity, participate in pricing conversations, and seek opportunities to reduce discounts.
Lead the onboarding process for new clients in partnership with the Relationship Team.
Engage fiduciary partners, act as lead contact when appropriate, and retain and deepen relationships across generations.
Contribute to the annual client plan and participate in the execution of that plan.
Share intellectual capital with the Relationship Management Team in pre‑call and weekly sales meetings.
Adhere to all fiduciary policies, regulatory and legal requirements, and support internal fiduciary issues.
Collaborate with Sales Leaders, Regional Trust Directors and local team members on pricing, compliance and litigation as required.
Perform other duties as assigned on a periodic basis.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of client advisory experience with ultra‑affluent business owners, including tax or legal services related to trust and fiduciary matters.
Demonstrated fiduciary experience and experience working with high‑net‑worth clients.
Ability to work with local Private Banking teams, Commercial Bankers and Investment Bankers.
Education
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
Master's Degree, JD or other advanced degree (preferred).
Licenses and Certifications
CPA, LLM, CTFA, and/or CFP (preferred).
Skills
Lead relationship development and engagement for beneficiaries.
Awareness of state‑specific estate and tax planning issues.
Experience working with clients and families on estate and financial planning issues, including distribution planning, philanthropic goals, and retirement planning.
Maintain deep expertise in fiduciary, investment, tax and related wealth issues; stay current on legal changes.
Anticipate and mitigate risk on assigned accounts.
Administer complex accounts with a proactive, disciplined approach.
Build close business relationships to foster client loyalty and new business opportunities.
Self‑motivated, goal and results driven, accountable for end‑to‑end processes.

Physical Demands
General office: prolonged sitting, face‑to‑face communication, frequent PC/laptop use, occasional lift of items up to 10 lbs.
Driving Requirements
Must operate a motor vehicle and hold a valid driver’s license.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range: $96,000 – $181,000 annually. Eligibility for incentive compensation and other benefits detailed on the KeyBank website.
