Emergency Communications Specialist

Position Summary (PS/SW) Operates communications and computer aided dispatch (CAD) equipment to provide non-emergency and emergency assistance; serves as a communications link between emergency response units and the public.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Work Hours & Location Work Hours: 12‑hour shifts, consistent schedule procedure.
Work Location: Itasca County Sheriff's Department, Emergency Communications Center, 1500 SE 7th Ave, Grand Rapids, MN.

Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience in emergency services dispatching (police, fire, EMS, 9‑1‑1) preferred.
Experience in communications field or emergency services (radio/television broadcasting, public speaking, dispatching, ambulance service, law enforcement, fire) preferred.
BCA Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification preferred.
CPR and First Aid training preferred.
