Vontobel is seeking a Relationship Manager to support our multi‑boutique growth strategy in the Japanese market for both institutional and retail channels. This role is based in Tokyo and reports to the Country Sales Head of Japan.
Responsibilities

Implement and support Vontobel’s sales strategy and business plan in Japan.
Support Vontobel's Tokyo team to drive sales of equity, fixed‑income, multi‑asset, and infrastructure products to institutional clients and intermediaries.
Maintain and nurture existing client relationships, working with client services professionals to ensure best‑in‑class client experiences.
Identify and coordinate events and sponsorship opportunities to elevate Vontobel’s brand in Japan.
Work closely with the broader Asia Pacific team to advance the regional business plan and coordinate with global CRM/operations teams to smoothly execute the plan.
Coordinate with Client Portfolio Managers and Investment team members to fully develop all opportunities in the region and help implement best practices at the firm.
Provide constructive feedback on strategies, market/industry trends and best practices to management, sales and investment management teams.
Engage internally across the organization to partner with product, marketing and investment resources to address client needs.
Build positive relationships across the broader global sales organization, investment communications, operations, legal, compliance and other internal teams critical to the end‑to‑end client lifecycle.
Qualifications

Relationship Manager with a proven track record in client services, 10‑15 years of asset‑management sales experience, preferably with institutional and retail channels.
Strong Japanese communication skills for engagement with key partners and a high level of English proficiency.
Experience marketing both public and private market asset classes in Japan.
Good understanding of Japanese regulations regarding sales and marketing.
Independent, entrepreneurial, client‑focused mindset with strong drive.
Strong communication and interpretation skills.
Willingness to travel for work.
High personal integrity and a team‑player attitude with strong multi‑tasking ability.
