Assistant Director of Sports Brands & Communications
The USC Athletics department seeks an Assistant Director of Sports Brands & Communications to elevate and promote the USC Athletics brand across its 23 sports programs. The successful candidate will serve as the primary point of contact with local and national media, manage public relations and sports information efforts, and create content for the USC Athletics website and social media accounts in collaboration with external units.

Roles and Responsibilities

Handle all public relations efforts for designated sports, including managing social media channels, maintaining the website (rosters, bios, schedules), writing press releases, game recaps, and feature stories.

Schedule and execute weekly cross‑departmental meetings to ensure strategic communication needs are met.

Create cross‑platform content with creative staff to promote sports programs.

Maintain accurate statistics at home events and cover events at home and on the road.

Maintain accurate records for designated sports.

Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree; one year of work experience (two years preferred).

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Photoshop), and sport‑specific stats software.

Experience in higher education and/or sports‑related field.

Excellent communication, organization, and attention‑to‑detail skills.

Hourly Range
The hourly rate range for this position is $34.08–$40.00.
