Position Overview
CUMULUS MEDIA in Kansas City, KS and Topeka, KS offer two part‑time opportunities as we expand local high school sports programming. Candidates may work in both markets, performing board‑operations, programming, and promotion duties at station facilities and events. The Kansas City role includes play‑by‑play for high‑school football. The Topeka role includes board operation for high‑school football and basketball, and possible shifts announcing daily traffic reports. Ideal candidates have strong work ethic, are self‑starter and highly organized, can work evenings (including Fridays), and are reliable and flexible.

Key Responsibilities

Host, announce or board‑operate during on‑air shift

Play‑by‑play sports host experience in Kansas City proven

Reliable with a flexible schedule, available days, nights, weekends and holidays

Ideally able to lift 50 pounds

Strong social media skills with platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

Run the control board in a radio studio broadcasting a variety of live and pre‑recorded local and syndicated programs

Play all commercials as scheduled

Monitor and rebroadcast required EAS alerts, weather warnings, amber alerts and breaking news

Maintain technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on‑air programming from station studios

Qualifications

Proficient with computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Op‑X, AudioVault, Wide Orbit, ENCO, Soundforge, Nuendo, Adobe Audition or other audio editing and automation programs

Familiar with audio mixers and remote monitoring systems for transmissions

Flexibility in scheduling required; majority of hours evenings, weekends and holidays

Previous on‑air and/or board operation experience preferred

Audio production skills preferred, but not required

Pay Range
USD $15.00 - $25.00 per hour.
