Brand Designer

If so, Native is looking for an experienced Brand Designer who can bring packaging and brand campaigns to life through engaging creative infused with our brand’s fun personality. This team member reports to the Creative Director and collaborates closely with cross‑functional teams to create for a broad range of brand needs.
This role is based in our San Francisco, CA office.
Visual Identity Development And Management
Develop and implement the brand's visual identity guidelines, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand values.
Define and maintain brand design elements, including color palette, typography, logo usage, and imagery guidelines.
Ensure brand design deliverables adhere to visual identity guidelines across all relevant touchpoints.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to incorporate visual identity into various marketing and communication materials.
Packaging Design And Development
Lead the design process for packaging, from concept development to final execution.
Leverage consumer & market research and competitor analysis to identify packaging trends and consumer preferences.
Work closely with the product development team to ensure packaging design aligns with product attributes and consumer needs.
Digital Asset Creation
Collaborate with the marketing team to create visually compelling digital assets for various channels, including social media, website, and online advertising.
Ensure digital assets effectively communicate brand messages and resonate with the target audience.
Stay updated with digital design trends and best practices to create innovative and engaging digital experiences.
Optimize digital assets for different platforms and devices to ensure consistent brand representation.
In‑Store Display And Point‑of‑Sale Materials
Develop and execute in‑store display and point‑of‑sale materials that enhance the brand's presence and drive consumer engagement.
Collaborate with retail partners and agencies to create impactful in‑store experiences.
Ensure in‑store displays and materials effectively communicate key messages and product benefits.
Conduct store visits and audits to evaluate the performance and effectiveness of in‑store displays.
Team Management And Collaboration
Manage and mentor a team of designers/contractors, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
Foster a collaborative and creative work environment, encouraging cross‑functional collaboration and sharing of ideas.
Coordinate with external creative agencies and design partners, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and project timelines.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including marketing, product development, and sales, to ensure design efforts support overall brand strategy and goals.
Job Qualifications
BA/BS in Graphic Design or similar field.
3+ years of full‑time design work experience (outside of freelance work).
A portfolio that demonstrates strong Design Mastery in graphic design and brand identity. The portfolio is assessed on creative excellence, storytelling, problem‑solving and technical mastery.
Experience in package design with an understanding of basic print feasibility.
Passion for beauty, with an understanding of category trends and the competitive landscape.
Disciplined with superior time and project management skills; possess the ability to set priorities and be accountable.
Preferred Qualifications
Uses empathy and non‑linear thinking: able to see the consumer as a person and ideate solutions with the consumer in mind.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to justify your conceptual and directional design choices with multi‑functional partners. Comfortable giving and receiving feedback.
Flexible in an environment of constant change. Able to engage and influence across functional partners.
Expertise in the latest graphics and business programs: Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat), Figma, and Microsoft (Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
