Provide leadership and guidance to the Contracting Division, including oversight of contracts, personnel, safe work practices, business metrics, and business development to achieve corporate and divisional goals. Additionally, the manager assists in defining and implementing work strategies to ensure profitability.
Major Duties
Sales: Supervise sales/estimating personnel, research bid projects, track awards, set pricing strategies, and review sales successes and missed opportunities.
Operations: Supervise field installation personnel, collaborate with Field Superintendents to ensure proper staffing levels, work quality, and personnel performance. Maintain production reports, training records, and conduct team meetings. Oversee safety policy and records.
Administration: Review and maintain Master Contract Agreements, Subcontractor agreements, and project contracts. Direct appropriate personnel to comply.
Contract Management: Manage contract issues and intervene with customers and sub‑contractors on behalf of FSC.
Business Metrics: Track and report project performance. Provide managerial review of financial reports and develop metrics to measure success, expenses and profitability.
Market Forecasting: Analyze construction markets through trade publications and customer contact; build market strategies based on FSC goals, customer needs, and resource availability.
Minor or Incidental Duties
Frequent travel within the market area and to required trade association events.
Financial review and assessments.
Business report writing including strategic development and pro‑forma analysis.
Lead and direct meetings involving personnel, vendors, and customers.
Communicate with and motivate subordinates toward strategy success.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; college degree in a related field preferred.
Supervisory experience managing a diverse workforce.
Even temperament and ability to work successfully in high‑pressure, rapidly changing situations.
Accounting basics and principles with strong financial and budgetary management skills.
In‑depth understanding of general construction practices and/or installation.
Preference given to candidates with experience and understanding of Lean principles in production processes.
Statistical mathematics principles applied in strategic planning and sales & marketing.
Organization and attention to goals and deadlines; strong project management skills.
Good computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
