2nd Shift Production Supervisor

Price Industries Inc is seeking a 2nd shift Production Supervisor for its growing US office and manufacturing facility located in Winder, Georgia. This position will report to the Manufacturing Manager and manage production activities within the department, responsible for overall performance including production schedule, delivery performance, resource planning and utilization, quality and safety improvement.

Responsibilities

Improving the Efficiency and Utilization of the Production Department

Quality of the products built and effective resolution of quality issues

Identifying problem root cause and implementing corrective and preventive measures to ensure no repetition

Utilize functional support departments to resolve quality issues

Identify and resolve Safety concerns

Ensuring work instructions, procedures and policies are being followed

Motivating department members through involvement, communication and positive reinforcement

Provide employees with feedback through formal and informal Performance Evaluations

Monitor attendance and take disciplinary steps as required up to the termination

Dealing with grievance and conflict in a clam, controlled and professional manner

Manpower planning and effective staffing, which includes operators, lead-hands and master crafters

Ensuring effective training and cross training

Mentoring and developing lead-hands so they can manage the hour by hour manufacturing operation

Driving continuous improvement within departments to achieve better quality, efficient productivity and delivery performance

Driving force behind 5S

Use Lean Manufacturing and other techniques

Ensure daily shop clean up actions are performed effectively and required daily machine preventive maintenance actions are carried out as required

Qualifications

Ability to work effectively in a multitasking environment and work constructively under pressure

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions

Exceptional leadership skills with a sense of urgency and strong aptitude

Ability to create accountability and lead by example

Ability to make sound and timely decisions

Ability to develop, maintain and motivate a strong team

Ability to work with minimum supervision

Must be organized and detail oriented

Ability to solve practical problems and difficult situations

Ability to pass a drug screen and background check

Education / Relevant Experience / Skills

College Degree or High School with 5 years of experience

3 – 5 years of supervision role with a proven track record in a high volume, multi-product environment – Preferably in sheet metal and HVAC

Experience in Lean Manufacturing

Comfortable in a team oriented environment

Proficient in MS Office

Bilingual in Spanish is highly preferred

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, extreme heat, extreme cold and dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
