Accounts Senior

Clark Wood are delighted to be working with a well‑established and highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Alton who are looking to recruit an Accounts Senior to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to join a friendly and supportive firm offering a varied client portfolio, genuine responsibility, and strong long‑term career prospects.

The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, working with a range of owner‑managed businesses across multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

Preparation and review of statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships

Preparation of corporation tax returns and personal tax returns

Assisting with management accounts and bookkeeping where required

Supporting junior team members and reviewing work

Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact

Liaising with clients to resolve queries and provide advice

Ensuring assignments are completed efficiently and within deadlines

Qualifications

ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience

Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment

Strong accounts preparation experience

Good knowledge of tax compliance work

Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage

Salary of £35,000 – £40,000 depending on experience.
