Production Supervisor
The Production Supervisor is a member of the Operations Team and under the guidance of the Plant Manager, is responsible for overseeing and coordinating production activities to maximize associate and equipment resources to meet or exceed production and quality standards, while maintaining the highest standards of safety. The employee also assists the Plant Manager in monitoring and reporting Key Performance Indicators.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Must possess and effectively apply intellect, judgment, and management skills to achieve desired production performance results across all KPIs. Daily tracking and ownership of improvement for key KPI’s.
Supervise and direct the work of direct reports across assigned shifts. Identify projects to drive to reduce waste and increase efficiencies.
Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies and that all employees adhere to these policies, including basic housekeeping and safety.
Utilize time‑keeping system to monitor and approve associates’ work hours.
Assist in projects related to safety and process improvements.
Enforce company policies regarding safety, environment, and production.
Work well cross‑functionally with maintenance and quality to ensure optimal production and that bottles produced meet specification.
Ensure associates have the proper training and tools to perform their job effectively and efficiently, including all company policies related to safety, quality, and employee conduct.
Operate machines safely.
Document quality reports and quantities produced properly.
Inspect part quality properly.
Follow any other applicable Standard Operating Procedures.
Under the guidance of Human Resources, evaluate, recognize, and discipline associates assigned to shifts.
Inspect products to verify conformance to specifications and be responsible for final setup and adjustments of machines to achieve optimal efficiency while ensuring quality production.
Review production schedules and set work assignments for assistants and machine operators.
Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production requirements.
Make recommendations to improve production methods, work conditions, equipment performance, and product quality.
Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in resolving work problems.
Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve company goals.
Maintain time and production records for the shift, including attendance.
Conferring with other supervisors to ensure a smooth hand‑off between shifts.
Prepare performance appraisals of subordinates.
Participate in decisions regarding disciplinary action when necessary.
Perform activities of subordinates when needed.
Assist in maintenance, installation, and sampling projects as needed.
Perform minor machine repairs, including repair/replace fill guns, knock‑out pins, broken springs, feed/air lines, gaskets, broken conveyors/foot pedals, core vents, and process adjustments.
Be responsible for the flow of the correct expanded material to the correct machines, including proper connections and ensuring minimal downtime.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct supervision of production personnel; training employees to perform job functions, adhering to all company policies, understanding and taking ownership of quality, planning and directing work, evaluating, rewarding, disciplining employees, and addressing and resolving complaints.
Requirements
Education Requirements/Work Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school preferred. High School Diploma required. Supervisory experience required.
Minimum two (2) years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred for this position.
Computer Skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Physical Demands
The employee must frequently lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision. The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, feel, talk or hear, stand and walk on concrete, reach with hands and arms, stoop, bend or twist, and occasionally push, pull, and/or move materials.
