Communications Director

Information & Communications Spec III (NS) Shape the future of NC's budget systems. The North Carolina Office of State Budget & Management (OSBM), as part of the Governor's Office, is excited to announce the opportunity to join our team as our Communications Director. This role will develop and support OSBM's communications strategy. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing and implementing communication strategies
Publication coordination
Social media management
Website content development
Digital accessibility
Branding and design
Graphic design
Continuous improvement
Technical editing
Presentation management
Public information officer
Records management

Demonstrated experience applying journalistic and communications principles
Proven ability to plan, write, and edit content
Demonstrated experience managing social media and website platforms
Documented experience managing complex, simultaneous projects

Hybrid positions require onsite work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at our downtown Raleigh, NC office. Employees may work remotely on Mondays and Fridays (optional)

Minimum education and experience: Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, media, journalism, English, or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in communications, public relations, or publicity work; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
