The School of American Ballet is the official training academy of the New York City Ballet.The Associate Producer, Media is part of a dynamic media team within the Company’s Marketing & Media department. They will play a role in the creation of all seasonal and institutional related media projects and activities to further the brand, and to promote the Company’s annual season at Lincoln Center and its national and international touring activities. They will also provide internal production support for 3rd party media projects and partnerships. This position reports to the Director, Media and will work closely with all members of the department.Duties and ResponsibilitiesProduction coordination of all video and still photography shoots from pre- through post-production, scheduling to meet all objectives/deadlineTrack pre-production, production, and post-production budgets for all assigned media projectsMaintain knowledge of and follow union rules for all setsCoordination of crew, talent and booking Local 1 stagehandsBook locations & equipment rentals for shoots at NYCB, Lincoln Center, and off-site sound stagesProcess project invoices for approval by team director before submission to finance, enter/ reconcile actuals & maintain year-to-date ledgerAssist in the management of freelance production assistants on shoots, as well as coordination of prep and return daysSupervise performance footage shoots with the appropriate Operations and Production personnel, including booking Local 1 stagehands, camera operators and sending shoot notifications; overseeing capture and ingestion of footageSupervise production of City Ballet the Podcast and Anatomy of a Dance episodes, booking guests, recording audio and supervising editMaintain video office equipment in a secure, organized manner, keeping it in ready working condition as well as maintaining camera software updatesAssist with other department activities as needed
Experience
Minimum Requirements3 years’ experience as an associate producer or 4 as production coordinatorBachelor’s degree a plusStrong project management, budgeting, and agreement drafting skillsExcellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and organizational skillsExtremely detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracyAbility to take direction and to work as part of a team as well as independentlyStrong command of English grammar, composition, and proofingAbility to multi-task, prioritize, and be flexible in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environmentFamiliarity with Covid best filming practices a plusAbility and willingness to work some nights and weekends in theater and on locationAbility to shoot and/or edit a major plusProficient with Macs and a command of MS OfficeProficient with Premiere ProExperience with project management tools, Airtable and Trello a plusExperience with MAM systems, EditShare a plusSome equipment lifting requiredA demonstrated interest in the arts/culture, ballet and/or NYCB a plusWork EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this position the employee is frequently exposed to:Office, studio, theater, and production set environmentsMoving equipmentPosition Type / Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time, salaried, exempt position.
