PIANO ACCOMPANIST POOL

Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to serve as a Piano Accompanist for Del Mar College’s Music department. The role requires the accompanist to attend and perform for the college choirs during rehearsals, concerts, and other designated events.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Music or three (3) years of Piano Accompanist experience may substitute for the educational requirement.

Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations.

Versatility in collaborative settings, various styles, and musical periods.

Excellent sight‑reading skills.

Physical ability to lift or move objects weighing less than 40 lbs.

Flexibility to work on and attend designated events.

Ability to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.

Job Duties

Sight‑read sheet music.

Practice accompaniment.
