POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Multimedia Content Creator for Boston Public Schools (BPS) works on a wide range of projects to ensure the district keeps internal and external audiences engaged and informed of strategic initiatives. As a member of the Communications team, the Multimedia Content Producer will be responsible for assigned projects and contribute to the overall content development for the department.

The Multimedia Content Creator will possess a strong understanding of crucial storytelling through writing, videography and photography, and will work cross functionally to communicate important updates to our students, families, staff, and community by contributing to a variety of print and digital platforms including, but not limited to: BPS website, departmental and family newsletters, social media channels and internal broadcasts.

Working with members of the content team, the Multimedia Content Creator will be responsible for capturing events within BPS central offices and across its schools, sharing engaging content with a variety of audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Capturing, editing, and distributing digital and print content to internal and external audiences as assigned

Ensuring content assignments are fulfilled and delivered in a timely manner

Assisting with posts and publications on social media channels

Providing videography/photography support for strategic initiatives as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED):

Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree or two years minimum professional experience in journalism, photo/video production, digital marketing or related field

Proficiency in DSLR camera and iPhone shooting, photo and video

Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Premier Pro and Photoshop

Ability to work well in a team setting and support multiple projects as assigned

Strong time management skills to complete projects on tight deadlines

Excellent communications skills

Current authorization to work in the United States

WORK SCHEDULE:

Eight hour day, steady with peak periods; some evening and weekend responsibilities driven by media/community engagement needs
