Position Summary Digital Producer for KDVR FOX31 and KWGN in Denver and Colorado. Responsible for updating the local website, curating high‑performing content, crafting data‑driven homepage layouts, and reporting news—from quick‑hit local stories to breaking news and enterprise reports. The role builds a loyal local audience through responsive traffic patterns and audience interests while stewarding the channel’s brand. Strong knowledge of social media platforms and flexibility to work early mornings, nights, and/or weekends are expected.
Responsibilities Monitor all media (print, TV, digital, blogs, social) and internal tools to quickly report breaking news, hunting exclusive or trending content that grows engagement and loyal local traffic.
Curate and aggregate a steady stream of interesting content, packaging and promoting it to generate engagement and repeat site visitation.
Write headlines that grow audience and engagement.
Prioritize packaging content that increases page views per visitor and time on site, using headline testing, metric tools, and observed patterns to guide decisions.
Produce short videos, select compelling photos and graphics, and craft and send app alerts, desktop notifications, and email alerts.
Clip broadcasts, edit videos, and publish them in articles.
Evaluate website traffic trends to inform daily content needs and long‑term curation strategies that grow the local audience.
Build positive relationships with newsroom staff and management, collaborate on enterprise content, and create opportunities to market web content on broadcast.
Promote and distribute news content on social media and contribute to managing station‑branded social accounts.
Perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements 2+ years of experience in digital content and journalism.
Fast and first to breaking news on the web; severe weather coverage experience is a plus.
Clever headline writing that drives clicks.
Strong multitasking, organization, and quick decision‑making skills.
Tech‑savvy, problem solver, and adaptable to change.
Research, interview, and write original news articles.
Knowledge of SEO best practices and AP style.
Understanding of social media’s role in reporting and traffic generation.
Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Schedule flexibility and responsiveness to feedback.
Consistently meets performance metrics and aligns with goals.
Strong understanding of Google Analytics; Chartbeat experience a plus.
Proficiency with MS Office, HTML, CSS, Photoshop, and Adobe Premiere is a plus.
Education Bachelor’s Degree.
Salary $25–$28.50 per hour, based on experience.
