About the project

This is a short minimalist dramatic scene shot entirely on location in an open prairie setting under harsh daylight and high wind conditions. The production prioritizes body language and facial emotion over dialogue delivery.

$250 half day.

Location: exterior prairie, near Denver.
Shoot dates: late July/early August.

The Setup:

Frame the shot as a tight close up. Sit at a bare table.
The Action:

Open a sealed paper envelope, take out a single sheet of paper, read the page silently to yourself from top to bottom, put the paper down, and look directly into the lens for five seconds. Do not speak.
Your Subtext

The paper you are reading confirms the exact outcome you have spent the last three years bracing for. You always knew this moment was arriving, but seeing it in ink makes it permanent. Do not attempt to show the viewer what the paper says. Play the feeling of someone whose entire world is collapsing, but who remains afraid to let that reality consume them.
