Role Description
The OP/Marketing Assistant is a part‑time, on‑site role based in Oakland, CA. This role supports day‑to‑day operational tasks such as order processing, inventory updates, packaging coordination, and basic data entry. The assistant also helps with marketing activities, including social media support, email outreach, and updating product information across channels. Responsibilities may include assisting with market research, gathering customer feedback, coordinating with retail and wholesale partners, and providing in‑person customer service during events or pickups. The role involves close collaboration with a small team, contributing to smooth operations and clear communication between customers, vendors, and internal staff.

Qualifications

Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal interaction with customers, partners, and team members.

Customer Service skills, with the ability to respond professionally to inquiries and support positive customer experiences.

Sales and Sales & Marketing skills to assist with promotions, outreach, and partner relationships.

Market Research skills to help gather, organize, and report insights on customers, competitors, and industry trends.

Organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks in a small, fast‑paced environment.

Comfort with basic office software and digital tools (e.g., spreadsheets, email platforms, social media applications).

Interest in whole grains, local food systems, or sustainable agriculture is highly beneficial.

Ability to work on‑site in Oakland, CA, lift and move product boxes as needed, and collaborate respectfully with a diverse team.
