The Access & Opportunity Programs (AOP) at SUNY Plattsburgh support student success through a range of initiatives, including ACE, Cardinal Cupboard, ARO, TRiO SSS, and EOP. We are seeking a creative and driven Social Media Intern to help tell our story, promote resources, and engage the campus community.

Position Overview
The Events & Social Media Intern will play a key role in managing AOP’s online presence by creating engaging content, promoting events, and highlighting student experiences across multiple platforms. (Communication & Technology)

Key Responsibilities

Manage and post content on Instagram and other social media platforms

Create engaging videos (Reels/TikToks) and graphics to promote programs and events (Technology)

Highlight student stories, achievements, and available resources (Communication)

Assist with marketing campaigns for ACE, Cardinal Cupboard, ARO, TRiO SSS, and EOP (Teamwork)

Capture photos/videos at events and program activities

Help grow AOP’s social media presence and engagement

Attend the AOP Program Planning Committee Meetings (Twice a month) (Teamwork)

Qualifications

Current student at SUNY Plattsburgh

Interest in communications, marketing, or related field

Familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and social media trends

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills

Experience with Canva or similar design tools

Basic video editing skills (CapCut, TikTok, etc.)

Creative mindset and attention to detail

Approximately 10 hours per week

Compensation: Paid and/or internship credit (depending on eligibility)

Flexible schedule based on academic commitments
